About Green Fox Academy Green Fox Academy is a Central European coding bootcamp, operating in Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, with plans to expand further in CEE and into Western Europe. The Academy targets people who would like to change to a career in IT. Our goal is to build a European tech school of the future that provides relevant education to students, delivers tangible employment outcomes for our graduates and provides skilled and valuable employees to our corporate partners and the general labor market. Green Fox Academy’s unique angle is its B2B business - serving as a placement partner for companies within the region and more importantly delivering corporate bootcamps focused on reskilling existing employees and reskilling new hires. We see the B2B business as a critical part of the future growth of the Academy.

About the role

The company has been growing rapidly at 30% a year the last 4 years. What started out as a small school in Budapest is now a major education and recruitment player across three different markets in Central Europe. The company now reached a scale and complexity that requires a professional manager to step in and continue the growth of the company. This is a regional role and the candidate needs to understand the complexities involved in running a company across multiple European countries.

The CEO will bear overall responsibility for running the company and will report directly to the investor. The main responsibilities of the CEO will be to continue and accelerate the growth of the company with increasing focus on the B2B side of the business, to optimize the entire company across processes, people and costs, with heavy focus on automation. The CEO is expected to take ownership of the business plan and relentlessly execute on it, ensuring to reach the KPIs.

Green Fox Academy is also a people-heavy business and as such the CEO needs to be well versed in working with people and have a high level of empathy and emotional resilience. 

Due to the nature of the role, the candidate must have experience from a “digital” industry and be familiar with software development and related topics. The company's operations are spread across Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, key hubs being: Budapest, Prague and Bratislava. Traveling between the offices is expected on a regular basis, twice per month. The company operates in a hybrid work environment where remote work is considered the default. 

This position is full-time and based at Green Fox Academy in Budapest, Hungary OR in Prague, Czech Republic.

The ideal candidate

The ideal candidate will be a process driven person capable of optimizing every aspect of the company. This role is very execution heavy, which is why we are looking for an experienced operator with a well honed commercial mindset who is not afraid of rolling up their sleeves. The candidate will understand the recruitment and learning & development business and will be able to quickly grasp the main concepts in software development. The ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial, agile and adaptable, with a very disciplined approach to implementing and optimizing processes, as well as experienced in change management. 

While we are looking for an experienced manager, this role will suit someone ready to take on  the next step in their career, step into a CEO role and take on the responsibility for running an entire company and delivering value to shareholders. 

Responsibilities

  • Lead the company through its transitory growth phase and provide inspirational leadership company wide
  • Own the company’s goal to become a European tech school of the future
  • Statutory representation of GFA in the countries it operates in
  • P&L, Balance sheet and Cash-flow responsibility for the whole company, together with the management
  • Transform the company into an asset-light & positive working capital company
  • Overall management of the entire operations. The primary focus is on optimizing and scaling the processes within the company, ensuring that it acts as one unified organization
  • Oversee the company’s fiscal activity, including budgeting, reporting, auditing and annual valuation
  • Strategically expand the company through well-selected acquisitions, together with the investor
  • Report to the board of directors and shareholders and keep them informed
  • Act as the primary spokesperson for the company
  • Develop and nurture the company’s culture and implement the company’s vision
  • Actively identify, design and implement improvements in each area of ​​the company's everyday activities

Requirements 

  • A strong bias towards execution and process optimization, a process driven person with a built-in need to optimize all aspects of the business
  • Bachelor’s degree or master's degree in a relevant discipline such as STEM or business management
  • Experience in a senior leadership role in people heavy operations (as opposed to asset heavy) across multiple environments - corporates and SME’s / startups
  • Intimate knowledge of profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow management and general finance and budgeting
  • Ability to build consensus and relationships among executives, partners and the employees
  • Ability to understand new issues quickly and make qualified decisions
  • Ability to inspire confidence, create trust and turn detractors into promoters
  • Ability to work under pressure, plan personal workload effectively and delegate
  • Familiarity with diverse business functions such as Marketing, PR, Finance, etc.
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate governance and general management best practices
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with outstanding organizational and leadership skills as well as service orientation
  • Excellent communication and public speaking skills
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve strategic goals in an innovative and fast-paced environment and to evolve product strategy based on research, data and industry trends
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational and analytical skills
  • Fluent in English. Getting to conversational Czech, Slovak or Hungarian will be required as part of the job, language courses will be provided

Bonus qualifications 

  • MBA from one of the Financial Times Top 100 business schools in the world is a plus
  • Fluency in Hungarian and either in Czech or Slovak languages is a huge benefit
  • Experience in working at a private equity backed company is a benefit
  • Experience in recruitment and/or corporate learning and development is a plus
  • Conversational knowledge of German or Dutch is an advantage
  • Strong B2B sales skills and network is a bonus
